What if I create a gentle image with soft edges, no hard lines?
I chose watercolor for its flowing characteristics. I have always loved how the edge lines and borders can blur together in a watercolor. I wanted to create something, soft, soothing, and peaceful. I chose pansies as my subject because they were a favorite of my childhood neighbor. She was kind to me, like a Grandmother to me, and played and talked with me nearly daily. She passed away when I was still young, and so my memory of her is soft around the edges now, blurs together a bit, but overall has a soft, warm, soothing feeling. This one is for Fran.
Beautiful flowers of childhood memories.
