Yes. Yes it can. I believe this wholeheartedly.

I have seen how art can improve academic gains and social functions in struggling students.

I have seen how art brings a community together for a cause or a goal.

I have seen how art can improve neighborhoods.

I have seen art relieve stress, unlock memories, move someone to tears, and bring joy to so many.

And now, I have seen art raise money for students with special needs to learn to dance. I, along with hundreds of other artists from around thew world, donated a drawing to support this cause.
